About this listen
Spain, 1939: Following the wishes of her parents to keep her safe during the war, a young girl, Julia, enters a convent in Barcelona. Looking for a way to maintain her links to the outside world, she volunteers to help in a maternity clinic. But worrying adoption practices in the clinic force Sister Julia to decide how far she will go to help those placed in her care.
England, 2011: Six months after her parents' shocking death, 34-year-old journalist and jazz enthusiast Ruby Rae has finally found the strength to pack away their possessions and sell the family home. But as she does so, she unearths a devastating secret her parents, Vivien and Tom, had kept from her all her life.

What did you like most about Bay of Secrets?
The various characters and the change from past to present. The scenery and atmosphere were beautifully portrayed without going over the top. This story has me wanting to go on a holiday by the coast.Which character – as performed by Sandra Duncan – was your favourite?
Tom and Vivienne ... the parents of Ruby. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Ruby's parents were in the crash..when ruby returned to the family home...when sister Julia was taken to the convent....when the family were struggling in Spain .... When sister Julia was visited by her family....when ruby was playing her musicAny additional comments?
There are some wonderful characters and it's read so well by Sandra Duncan . I love listening to her read and she captures accents and feelings so well, I often replayed certain sentences when listening to the book as I liked the way she is able to portray so much warmth and feeling in one sentence.Be swept away to sunny and stormy times
