Summary

He knows her soul can never be his... but he wants it anyway.

Lucifer has come a long way since being trapped in Hell. Trading darkness for a life in the light, he's built a family with the Guardians and their mates—a future he never thought possible. But when a familiar nemesis threatens his peace, he's determined to end the Daemon King once and for all.

Until his plan is interrupted by an unexpected complication.

Summoned by Archangel Cassiel, he's forced to bond with Scarlet, a celestrial with secrets of her own. Yet something about her pulls at him in ways he can’t ignore—a connection that feels unlike anything he’s ever experienced. And despite her frosty demeanour and sharp tongue, he wasn't sure if he wanted to let her go.

Tricking her way into working for London's only Archangel, Scarlet will do anything to seek revenge, and finally lay her brother to rest. Even if that means spying on Lucifer, a frustratingly hedonistic and unpredictable man.

As she’s drawn deeper into Lucifer’s battle against the Daemon King, Scarlet finds herself torn between vengeance and a growing attraction that's nothing but a distraction, one that could cost her everything.

Because leaving her past behind was dangerous enough, and now she finds herself risking not just her mission, but her very soul.

If there was ever a character built to steal an entire series, it was Lucy… AKA the pink-glitter-loving demon, Lucifier. And wow, what a finale this turned out to be. The Curse of the Guardians series has been such a wild paranormal ride from the very beginning; a brotherhood of Guardians shifting into massive wolf and feline-like beasts to battle daemons under the command of an Archangel council, all while trying to take down the ultimate evil lurking behind the scenes. But through all the danger, heartbreak, battles, and chaos… Lucifier has always been the wildcard. And honestly? He’s one of my favorite side characters I’ve read in a long time.

Lucy is absolute mayhem wrapped in glitter and sarcasm. He’s powerful enough to terrify nearly everyone around him, has zero filter whatsoever, says the most wildly inappropriate things imaginable, and constantly torments his found family with tricks and chaos. But underneath all that swagger and sharp humor is someone deeply loyal, protective, and surprisingly soft-hearted. He’s basically a feral teddy bear in demon form, and I adored him.

So finally getting his story felt incredibly satisfying. His mate being an angel secretly sent by the Archangels to spy on and potentially take him down was SUCH a perfect setup. No one fully trusts Luci because no one can quite figure him out, and watching that tension unfold between them made this book impossible to stop listening to. There’s action, emotion, humor, found family chaos, and some genuinely touching moments woven throughout. And that ending? Fantastic. It truly felt like a worthy conclusion to the series while still leaving just enough room for future possibilities. And listen… that chaotic pixie side character absolutely has spin-off potential, and I would not complain one bit.

The narration was also wonderfully done. The narrators captured the personalities perfectly, especially Lucy’s chaotic energy and emotional layers. They brought the entire cast to life in a way that made this finale hit even harder. I genuinely loved this series from beginning to end, and I’ll absolutely be watching to see what this author releases next.

Such a fantastic ending the series
