Summary

He's coming for you.

Death is meant to come on a chariot of broken dreams or in the dark trenches of a storm, not in love letters and gifts.

He did not take my soul when I was meant to die. He did not want it all the other times that I've offered it to him on a silver platter. Yet, time and time again, he reminds me that I am his: His night monster, his dark love, his perfect other.

Death was the only thing keeping me alive. He watches me from his corner, taunts me with sweet messages, marks my body with his touch as I sleep.

He took the people that I love away from me. Still, no one believed me when I said that I saw the faceless man on the night of the accident.

No one can escape death.

Me? I'm chasing it.

A very poetic, kinda angsty story. A good short story, kind of wished it was longer and more detailed but cant complain.

I read the book first, but then I found a short clip of the audiobook, and Oh My God, the Death's voice 🖤 I had to listen to this. Both narrators did a great job, but listening to Death was magical

I thought it was okay. There wasn't really much of a plot and the characters could've been a bit more thought out. The main character is Death and I thought he lacked a bit of magic and supernatural element. There was no drama element between Death and the FMC. It was only 4 hours so I'm not that disappointed.

It was fine.

The way that grief is described in this book is possibly one of the best portrayals I’ve ever read. It left me raw and hit some sore spots in my soul. The FMC is very relatable to me. The way the MMC took care of her, even though it was disturbing at first, is wonderful. Of course we get to see his POV as well, maybe that took the edge off a bit :)

This book tore me apart and put me back together

The story interested me a lot. but I kept wanting more from it.
I reckon I wouldn't feel this way if the male narrator didn't speak almost with the same lazy tone throughout the whole book.
I get the idea of wanting to sound otherworldly, almost like beast like, but it all felt very.... monochromatic.
regardless of how it played out for me it's a good story with good coice actors, maybe just not quite what I was looking for at the time.

Melancholic Galore
