I really enjoy these books but the story in this one is thinner than my eyebrows. The FMC swings between badass and doormat. I dont believe that she would leave either the minpins or Racquel to suffer. Her powers are inconsistent or she chooses not to use them at crucial times. Why is Ghoul? Xander does not suffer/grovel enough. The next book better be non stop revenge or i swear to the wild goddess I will continue reading and then rant to internet strangers.

I gasped, WTH'd and WTAF'd my way through this book - where to start! I loved it like I have the rest of series so far but it is a different tone to the other books, there is a lot more pain, trauma, cruelty and questionable choices and for a lot of the book as well, credit to E P Bali, because I don't think I've felt quite so opinionated and chuntered away at a book for a while, and found a character so grrrrr! I mean there are characters that are 100% written as we're supposed to dislike them, but a fated mate? I spent a lot of this wondering how on earth Xander could come back from it all with Aurelia, his Brother's any every one else, or if this would go against the grain in fairytale land and there would be no redemption for him and just when you think forgiveness could never be on the cards "tah dah" he finally pulls his head out of his bottom, the grovelling felt disproportionate to the preceding events but I still melted like an ice cube on a Summers day and didn't want him to be treated in a similar way, and Ghoul - don't even get me started - not a clue where that's going 🙈😆, the rest of the main characters, extended found family and of course Eugene and Henry just 💗 off to Kindle to read the last one now.

What an ending. What a story. You’ve left me in the worst most fantastic cliff hanger! Her poor mates. I love the books. The characters are fantastic. Their stories are heartbreaking. I can’t bear the thought of savage hunting his love. Great narration which really brings the story to life. Will say no more so not to ruin the story for others.
