Silly, over-the-top secondary characters appearing in Kashel Char's New Beginnings series.

Juandre leaves the bar tipsy and in search of a man. While driving home, he picks up a hitchhiker. The two indulge in their wildest fantasies over the weekend and lose touch until ten years later when Andrew realizes he can't live without the man he has been pining for. Just one problem stands between them: Andrew is not fully human and hasn't aged a day.

Warning: This story is intended for mature readers and includes explicit sexual content, strong language, violence, trauma, psychological intensity, and other dark themes. Please read with care if these subjects may be difficult for you.

Jonathan Waters captured their personalities perfectly. So much sexy times, but written so that it never bored me. The narrator highlighted the humor and gave a performance like no other. Adding this author and narrator to my fav list!

Juandre is a firecracker 🧨

This little short gives us a brief view into the life of an upcoming character in this series. I will say I hope he gets nicer because he seems mean, at least how he treats the other main character in this. Of course his objective is only to answer some questions about his own sexuality and experience some things for the first time. As far as he knows the guy is married and he’ll never see him again. He is set to marry a woman so it’s understandable. He is also quite spoiled I think as the parents are rich but very religious and not at all tolerant. It was quite good for it’s length and left me asking questions about certain oddities that I’ll only get the answers to when I listen to the next book tomorrow. The story had great flow and I’m very much looking forward to digging into the next one. This narrator was new to me but I quite liked his performance and shall be adding him to my list of narrators I will actually listen to.!

Practically perfect

I really liked Juandre’s sassy character in New Beginnings, so I was excited to hear a little more about how he and Andrew originally met.

If you’ve read/listened to New Beginnings, this one is pre-doomsday, so it was interesting to see who they were as people before this.

Jonathan Waters did a great job of narrating again.

Also, I can forgive the very abrupt ending, but only because I know there’s hope of finding out more in the next book!

A great little read/listen if you want that extra context to the characters of New Beginnings.

What a listen!
