About this listen

Perfect for fans of:

Workplace romance

Forbidden romance

Opposites attract

Is the line between love and hate just one sonnet away?

Financial auditor Micah Mila is used to being the bearer of bad news. But her latest assignment in the local university's English department has been especially taxing, no thanks to a particularly infuriating literature professor. Luckily, she has an after-hours escape: reading spicy Shakespearean fanfic.

Professor Aidan Scott is damn good at his job. But Micah has been a thorn in his side since he laid eyes on her – eyes that really like what they see. But with his job on the line, there's no room for distractions. At least, not beyond the sexy fanfic he secretly writes.

When Micah discovers the man getting under her skin is the writer heating her up, their hate turns into something steamier. But with Micah's audit due and Aidan's career at risk, separating fantasy from reality becomes increasingly complicated…

This book is truly wonderful! Its a love story to romance readers and everyone who secretly dreams about being a writer. The story celebrates fanfiction and creativity and following your passion and is a cute modern day hint to the original enemies to lovers, Benedick and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing. I got so caught up in the characters in this one and the misunderstandings which set off our financial auditor Micah and the broody English Lit professor Aidan. But they have such an undeniable chemistry that keeps pulling them in and they don't realise that online they actually like each other as Micah is a devoted reader of Aidan's spicy Shakespeare fanfic stories. I loved everything about this one, its funny, its sexy and its unashamed in its celebration of the romance novel world.

This audiobook though is the best version to experience this story with stellar dual narration performances from JF Harding and Audio Queen, Cindy Kay. They are equally talented and were able to match each other with their abilities to draw out the feistiness, the longing, the vulnerability and the passion between Aidan and Micah. I could not stop listening, its incredible.
