Lane

I wish the blurb had a said the book was daddy-kink. It is the one thing that gives me the ick immediately. Had I known, I would not have listened. But now that I had committed to reviewing, I really tried my best to disconnect from that one aspect (I unfortunately did not succeed since it was used a lot).

The book was OK, but had aspects that was completely unrealistic. However, it still got to me somehow🤷🏼‍♀️ The obsession and love that the two main characters have for each other was so well written and performed. So you as the listener is emotionally thrown around from one end of the spectrum to another. It is quite a ride! Had the daddy-kink not been there, it would have been a 4.5 stars for me.

Audiobook - excellent narration, giving a delightfully creepy and later possessive feel to serial unaliver Ryell. Lane's reactions after first being captured felt very logical - until Ryell's treatment of him suddenly changed everything for both of them. A wonderful lot of unexpected twists and turns, definitely a darker romance standout for me.
