The narration saves the book but I still have 2 hours to go and have given up. It skips large chunks of time, but the characters and story do not develop in the gap. They lived together for 9 months, which was entirely skipped. They have just skipped another 5 months which makes no sense.

I just cannot stand to finish the book!
