Summary
She's a shy fiddle player from the city.
He's a small-town cowboy with the reputation of a playboy.
And they'll be working side-by-side, all day every day.
PRESLEY JAMES isn't one for being impulsive. But now she's found herself smack dab in the middle of Randall, Texas. Population 5,549. And to make matters worse, she can't seem to get away from a cowboy whose love of giving her nicknames is testing her patience. A cowboy who is flirty, annoying, and too young for her.
KADE MONTGOMERY has enough on his plate. Between constant fights with his family and a brand new dude ranch to build, he doesn't do relationships. But he does do women, booze, and fun . . . until a certain purple-haired, tattooed city girl walks in and changes everything.
Will Kade and his playboy ways send Presley running for the hills, or will he be able to rope her in?
Contains mature themes.
The story was nice and it did tackle some big subjects like depression and alcoholism which i think need to be brought into the forefront and talked about openly, but i just found the pace very slow. It was very similar to the first book in the series where it relied on the 'miscommunication' trope to keep the story moving. I find it very tedious and infuriating after a while! I found myslef raging and shouting "just talk to each other FFS!
The characters were nice and the world that is created is fun. I like an FMC that is a bigger girl too
Narration is not my favorite on this one. It added to my struggle to finish the book
ok story. Tackled some good topics.
