After listening to Speak, Stutter and Scream Ruby Darling has become a "must listen" author for me, I knew this would be quite different from those from snippets I'd heard but I went in to it not knowing a lot otherwise just wanting to enjoy the ride - and I definitely did, I love the relationships Ruby writes they're tense, intense, possessive, obsessive, hot and swoon worthy and this was no different, and both Verity & Dean were main characters you could get behind and root for, as with all her books the FMC Verity is strong. likeable and relatable and the MMC Dean is just hot 🔥🥵 the story is sweet, emotional, interesting, tense and the twist was great, along with a really good story the narration as always was brilliant, Andi Eloise and Caden Hart 👏 totally binged this this and sad it's over, now to wait for Always to come out on audio! (and hopefully some of Ruby's older ones too 🤞)

Another brilliant book by Ruby Darling,

Okay, so… I devoured this audiobook - it was brilliant!
Secrets That Bind Us gave me everything I wanted — messy emotions, small-town drama, second-chance romance, a little bit of mystery, and juuust enough darkness to keep me on edge. I went through all the emotions with this, one minute I was crying, then I was on edge and then there was the swooning and squirming - because holy hell Ruby creates amazing spice!
Verity a romance book author & single mom to Noah & Savannah, heads back to her hometown to deal with her old family house and ends up face-to-face with her first love, Dean (now the town sheriff and still very much the love of her life). What she doesn’t expect is to uncover old secrets, strange happenings, and some very raw emotional wounds. It’s heartfelt, a little eerie, and the dual timeline gave Verity & Dean's love so much depth and had me rooting for their second chance! The way Dean loved Verity everything, even after all the time lost and some secrets coming to light, his love for her never waivers, not only for Verity but for her kids too.
Andi & Caden were incredible narrating this masterpiece - Andi crushed it as Verity — all the vulnerability, strength, and complicated emotions came through so naturally. Their voices together? Chef’s kiss. Caden absolutely nailed Dean. His tone is warm, steady, and honestly gave me that “I trust this man with literally anything” vibe.
please check the trigger warnings before listening/reading. The book touches on some dark and heavy themes, and I’m really glad I went in prepared. Overall: emotional, atmospheric, addictive. If you love second-chance romance with a mysterious edge and top-tier narration, definitely give this one a listen.
A huge thank you to Ruby & Bluenose for this ALC opportunity

Wow, just wow, this book just blew me away, a story that lures you in right from the start, taking hold of your attention where nothing else around you matters except what is going to happen next in the book. It is best to go in not knowing anything, so avoid spoilers, enjoy the intense and wild ride in the moment and watch it all unfold. I loved the originality and complexity of the story and the characters, the unique telling of the story, alternating timelines, giving glimpses of the past and what brought them to where they are in the present. Verity C. Huntington could not get out of Adelaide, Texas fast enough, finished H.S. early and even her own mother supported her decision knowing the place was bad for her. She returns years later after her mother’s passing, with plans to renovate the old farmhouse, a house that is haunted with ghosts and terrible memories. Her friend wants to hold her wedding there, the place she met her fiancé, and Verity plans on selling it after. Then there was Dean Carson, the boy she loved, but she had to follow her big city dreams, hoping he’d follow, which did not happen. Dean is now a man, and the town’s Sheriff, and he never stopped loving Verity, and it may not have been their time in the past, he knew it was their time now. The chemistry between Verity and Dean was smoking hot, and I enjoyed watching them reconnect, as well as seeing their past relationship grow and build. Ruby M. Darling weaves a complex and mighty fine web around these characters, creating a multilayered story, and it was great watching it all unfold and seeing all the pieces fall into place. Besides Dean and Verity, there are some great side/secondary characters, too, including Verity’s two kids, Savannah and Noah, who stole several scenes. There is never a dull moment in this book, with non-stop drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments that give you the chills, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. The writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Ruby M. Darling, thank you for this amazing story and the intense and wild emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Andi Eloise and Caden Hart delivered an incredible performance, giving each character a voice that was fitting for a perfect portrayal of each. I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound, young and old. Eloise nailed it as Verity, grasping all sides of her personality, from her insecurities to her strength, determination and fierceness. Hart did the same as Dean and was just as amazing at showcasing his personality, from his angst to his protective side. Both were fantastic at performing the roles of the side and secondary characters too. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they conveyed all the characters’ emotions, making you feel each one. These two entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to, and their captivating performance rivets you to the story

Secrets That Bind Us by Ruby Darling is an erotic thriller that I listened to on audio narrated by Andi Eloise and Caden Hart.

This is the third book of Ruby's that I have read, and it won't be my last. This book definitely had some twists that had me hooked until the very end. I loved the relationship between Verity and Dean. It was extremely messy, but you couldn't help but root for them. I really enjoyed getting Verity, Dean, Noah, Savannah, and The Entity's points of views throughout the book.

Caden and Andi did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you're looking for an erotic thriller, suspenseful romance, small town romance, or a second chance romance.

I'm sorry, but this book was just boring. I even asked for my credit back on Audible.
The constant miscommunication... He gets into an accident, her phone lands in a puddle of water and a taxi drives over it. My God, can it get even worse?
The narrators did an amazing job, it wasn't their fault. It was just the story of the constant tugging. Him not knowing he has 2 children. although I blame Mr. Asshole for that. But when she learned, she could've reached out.
And he should've gotten the balls to actually run up to here when he saw she was pushing a stroller. He even said so himself.
He missed 12 years of his daughters life. And how many years in Noah's... I don't know how old Noah is.

I do like that they're getting a second chance of love, but the hesitation from this girl was just too much for me. Yes he made some mistakes in the past and he said some things. But we all grow (mostly) as adults. She loves him, but doesn't want to be with him. She loves him, but she does want to be with him.
Girl make up your mind.

The tugging just pissed me off.

Too much miscommunication
