About this listen
This is the true story of a poor girl from small-town Nova Scotia, and her transformation into one of the most successful Dominatrix porn stars in the world.
Becoming one of the most successful and well-known femdom fetish porn stars takes a certain mix of ingredients - ingredients cultivated in Mistress T at a young age. Lack of inhibition, keen business sense, and a powerful sense of independence resulted in a skilled and driven woman uniquely prepared to do whatever was necessary to succeed in a business most people fail to excel in.
But behind the camera, the fetish shows, and the live orgies, Mistress T’s life has been a wild ride of relationships equally passionate and profane; a high life and low life in the world’s most exquisite locales, and - of course - the salacious secret world of a Dominatrix in high demand.
A candid look at relationships, human connection, love, and the flawed families who make us who we are, There Is More to the Story strips back the veil on the reality behind sexual fantasies. Frank and revealing, this memoir explores the sex industry, humanizing the women who work in it, as well as the machinations of human’s favorite pastime.
This is a book about Mistress T, but not the Mistress T you know.
And it's the closest you're ever going to get without paying for it.
Best,
Mistress T

This was a very interesting listen. Having been familiar with the author's alternative work for a few years, I eagerly waited for this book's arrival when she announced it.
I was expecting some tragic stories, some funny stories, some arousing stories, and I was even expecting the book to humanise her, as most celebrity bio's do. What I wasn't expecting was that in humanising her, it sort of took away Mistress T's superpowers, a little bit. And I felt crappy for reading something that demystifies the unblemished Goddess figure that I've always had of her. Silly I know but as adults, there aren't as many fantasy figures that we have.
(I only really started feeling that way when she told some of the more embarrassing stories, not the earlier traumatic events).
As I kept listening, I figured that this could have been intentional, especially where, towards the end of the book, in a moment of introspection she asked herself and inadvertently the listeners/readers if she will still be as loved as her looks fade. I felt that in her telling some of the more vunerable and super embarrassing stories, it could be seen as a slight act of self sobbatage. Getting fickle fans to leave before she 'has to'.
I'm probably reading waaay too much into it but it's very interesting and a recommended listen, even to those not familiar with her work.
