Summary

the death of her sister, the queen, brings anti monarchist Gwen back to the palace and people at court she dislikes.
friction with her magical advisor, the high mage, turns into attraction , both physically and emotionally.
there's plenty of spice, the story is well-formed, and the narration is excellent,
I expected more palace intrigue, and don't know why.

This story is captivating, I didn't want to stop listening to it anytime I had to. Sabrina Blaum's ability to weave a story together into something devastatingly beautiful is just magic. You won't regret listening to this book, the narration was fantastic as well. Only thing is you might be left wanting more, from being so enthralled by it as I was, I glad take another 4 or more hours in this story if it was an option.

She never wanted to be a Queen or rule the kingdom! The mage drove her mad by insisting that the has to be QUEEN since her sister died, it is her duty to marry!

They didn't expect to find a curse, nor how close they became to each other. A beautiful romance with a delightful sprinkle of spice bonds then together in true love. 🌶

I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did, but Firelight absolutely blew me away. The story pulled me in right from the beginning—beautifully written, full of emotion, magic, and a lot of heat🔥The chemistry between the main characters is electric!

The world-building was immersive, the political tension added depth, and the romance was both sweet and sizzling. I especially loved the strength and complexity of both Gwen and Amara—such compelling leads.

The narration was spot-on too. Clark Coderre brought the characters to life and kept me fully engaged throughout the audiobook.

A lovely surprise of a story. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys fantasy, strong female leads, and a lot of spice! 🥵

Firelight, free from the Plus Catalogue. This mythical romance is worth a listen. I enjoyed it very much. I'm not sure about the narration it missed the mark but I still gave it 4 stars because I can't quite put my finger on what wasn't quite right. The two MC's were powerful women that we wanted a HEA !
