I was born in Wellington, England and spent my childhood abroad, as my father was in the army. We lived in Eritrea, Paris and Singapore, only returning to the UK when I was nine. It gave me a love of travel, foreign places and languages, and tropical climates. Since the 1980's, I have been a full-time journalist and book author and have been fortunate to experience many amazing people and places, many of them on assignment for National Geographic, with whom I have a long working relationship. I have also published in The Guardian, The New Yorker, Femail, The Telegraph and many more. Along the way, I learned to speak six languages ( with various degrees of fluency!) and have lived in or visited more than 70 countries. Among many adventures, I have ridden with gauchos in Patagonia, explored a Tang Dynasty shipwreck off the coast of Sumatra and spent a day listening to old records with Marianne Faithful! Other celebs I have interviewed include Hilary Clinton (remember her?), Wynona Ryder, Monica Seles and Leonard Cohen. I also had the honour of being the last writer to interview the great Katharine Hepburn, at her home on Turtle Bay, New York. My passions include tennis, books, travel and wild places. My latest book, which I hope you will enjoy, is called The Very White Of Love and was published by Harper Collins (HQ) in June 2018. It's a love story set in World War Two Britain, based on the true story of a chocolate box full of love letters I found at the bottom of my mother's wardrobe after her death - and the heart-wrenching secret inside. It's my first novel, a very personal book, which I poured my heart into. For five years! We have had tremendous press, among others this two-page spread in Femail: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/art... WOMAN MAGAZINE WROTE: ‘An unforgettable read that draws you into the tenderness, heartbreak and drama of Nancy and Martin’s love story.’ P.S I am also thrilled to announce that a new Spanish edition of my book, The Poet and The Murderer, which has just been released in Spain by Impedimenta: it's a beautiful edition! http://impedimenta.es/libros.php/la-poeta-y-el-asesino
