祐君は検死の結果、事故と判断され通夜、告別式、初七日が過ぎた。
一人アパートの部屋に戻った高松さんは部屋の明かりをつけたとたんに絶句した。居間の真ん中に亡くなったはずの祐君が座っていたのだ。
「高松…俺死んじゃった」とバツが悪そうに話す祐君は49日までは現世にいられるからぎりぎりまで高松さんと過ごしたいと言う。
