Summary

The international bestseller Between a Rock and a Hard Place is now a major motion picture starring James Franco.

Hiking into the remote Utah canyonlands, Aron Ralston felt perfectly at home in the beauty of the natural world. Then, at 2:41 P.M., eight miles from his truck, in a deep and narrow slot canyon, an eight-hundred-pound boulder tumbled loose, pinning Aron's right hand and wrist against the canyon wall. Through six days of hell, with scant water, food, or warm clothing, and the terrible knowledge that no one knew where he was, Aron eliminated his escape option one by one. Then a moment of stark clarity helped him to solve the riddle of the boulder--and commit one of the most extreme and desperate acts imaginable.

Honest, inspiring, and undeniably astonishing, 127 Hours: Between a Rock and a Hard Place has taken its place in the annals of classic adventure stories.

Have read the book, and watched the film. Got the audio book when going into hospital to have my leg amputated below knee. Help me realise that some people have it a lot worse than I do. Thank you for sharing your story Aron Ralston, you are one brave man.

Fantastic story and well read. I read the book a few years ago, so this complimented it perfectly.

I watched the movie and decided that I would listen to the audio book. I wasn't disappointed. Aron narrates the piece and he places you in the canyon alongside him.

Excellent Story

Aron has a natural storytelling voice. Listening to him narrate this experience encourages us, the Iistener, to journey with him through Canyonlands National Park with him . To experience the joy and the solitude with Aron. To experience the subsequent accident and entrapment as surely as though it is you, the listener, who is trapped by the chok stone. Stranger you feel not pity nor sorrow for Aron but rather hope and strength. You believe that your positive thoughts and vibes will aid this young man in to finding a way to free himself from the rock and help him return to the ones he loves. This is not a tale of a hero but simply that of a young man who's passion for the outdoors has lead him to this place. An extreme situation and an even more extreme solution.
