Audio Journeys explores a small patch of some of the Republic of El Salvador's last remaining rainforests. Fifty spider monkeys live in the canopy of 300-year-old trees. The spider monkeys are protected as long as they stay in this very small area, known as the Chaguantique Nature Reserve.

This important private reserve is maintained by El Salvador's ministry of Natural Resources. We meet Erlinda Lobo, a naturalist guide at the Reserve. The visitors' center is a small room with examples of plants and animals that live in this fragile ecosystem.

From Travel Radio International and informatively narrated by Patricia L. Lawrence, Chaguantique Nature Reserve, El Savador is a journey to the jungle of the smallest country in Central America.

We listen to locals describe to Lawrence the elusive spider monkeys that live high up in El Salvador's ancient trees. We also are guided on a nature walk in the rainforest and learn more from the Salvadorans about the unique plants and animals found in this most delicate ecosystem.

This short travel program should appeal to both travelers and nature lovers.
