About this listen

It’s hard to have ADHD in a world not built for our brains. It can leave us feeling discouraged, like we’re always getting in our own way. Like we can never quite have the life we want. But the reality is that we can influence how our brains work, and we have unique strengths. We just need the right tools.

In 30 Days to Thrive with ADHD, Dr. K brings us those tools. As a Harvard-trained psychiatrist who also spent time training to be a monk, he draws on both modern neuroscience and ancient wisdom to help you understand and harness your ADHD brain.

Each day is short—just 6 to 12 minutes—and talks about a specific aspect of ADHD and how to practically address it in your life. Over the next 30 days, Dr. K will help you:

  • Understand and reset your unique neurochemistry
  • Lean into procrastination to finally get things done
  • Change your self-narratives and master your emotions
  • Train your brain with ADHD-friendly meditations

We’re done surviving. We’re learning to thrive.

This guide is part of the 30-Day Guides to Improve Your Life series. If you like the daily format, you can also listen to titles on changing your relationship to alcohol, setting better boundaries, and rediscovering your creativity, each authored by an expert on the topic.

With just the right balance between interesting techniques to try out and the science behind them, this audiobook is an essential listen for those with ADHD. I listened all the way through instead of day by day but, and this is a first for me, I've gone back to the chapter headings and noted the techniques I want to remember in each and which chapters I'll need to come back to. I've already put some techniques in place and found them incredibly helpful. (Urge surfing? Love it! I can't believe the difference it's made already.) I've been getting a lot of one to one ADHD coaching from a wonderful and highly trained coach and learned so much from her but I was still able to gain many new insights and techniques from this short listen. And don't be deceived by the length - there's way more packed into this audiobook than you could imagine and yet it's very entertaining to listen to.

Amazing resource!!

I noticed 1 reviewer who couldnt get past a 1 minute meditation pause which i guess is typical for adhd sufferers. Me, i binge consumed it. The author is a specialist in treating adhd. The days only have 7 minutes or so of listening and an exercise you practice for two days. It isnt arduous. It is also insightful because the advice for managing attention in neuro typical people doesn't work for adhd. I thought it was excellent.

some fantastic insights

I found this audiobook absolutely incredible. The fact it was free was even better!
It’s probably the best book I’ve listened to on ADHD. It was succinct and easy to follow. Short and punchy, and what I particularly liked was it focused on management and finding workaround solutions.

Absolutely Amazing - it’s about management, not elimination
