Summary

"Death is not the end of us."

Follow the emotional and heartwarming story of two mentally unwell ghosts who've lost their way.

Lanston

It's been five years since I died and I'm still here. Still haunting this world. I've all but given up hope of passing on the other side when I'm dragged to a spring performance with Yelina and Jericho. It's there that I see the most beautiful phantom I've ever witnessed dancing on the stage. Only after meeting her do I realize how similar we are. But darkness chases her, keeping her distant from me. But how far am I willing to go to find peace?

Ophelia

I've evaded other phantoms for years. To keep them safe and away from the shadows that haunt me. But for some reason, I can't stay away from him. He invites me to join him at Harlow Sanctum, where he asks me to join him in completing our bucket list. He wants to pass on. But I have a dark past that keeps me from wanting to follow him into the dark.

This is the spin-off to The Fabric of Our Souls, which must be listened to first to follow the characters in this story.

Damn it, I’m crying again. My little binge through K. M. Moronova’s books has left me shedding so many tears. Lanston and Ophelia’s love story is absolutely stunning. The way this book was written made it feel so focused and romantically intimate, like nothing else existed while I was listening. It's heartbreaking and tragic, yet also achingly beautiful and hopeful.

The feel of this book is also striking, it’s strange in the best possible way, the timeline feels very much like “now” or close to it, yet the tone gives off the elegance of a classic romantic novel, It’s set in our world and still feels magical and otherwordly, overall it's a breathtaking, haunting tale that I'm glad I had the pleasure of listening to.

4.5 ⭐'s simply beautiful

Once again a whirlwind of emotions, I love how you step into their journey with them emotionally and how it shows how easily one can build a prison in life and death from others hatred. I'm happy but sad at the same time entire story line was beautiful and heart breaking and the end was emotional but so beautiful.

I liked to hear more about Langston and his journey. How loved ones may not be here but maybe not completely gone. How the group helps one another, the love story between Langston and Ophelia who has her own story to tell. Loved this brought a tear to my eye.
