About this listen

A sweet small-town saga about mending hearts, finding purpose, and choosing hope.

Sally Lipton has run the Ocean Breeze Café for years, and her bubbly personality and warm smile have made her a favorite in Rosewood Beach. Her café is always full—but there’s an emptiness in her life that Sally can’t quite pinpoint. A decade ago, she walked away from love after a serious relationship ended, choosing instead to pour herself into work and surround herself with friends and loyal customers. Now in her early fifties, she’s starting to wonder if that was the right choice.

Oscar Jennings never planned on small-town life, but after losing his nest egg in a few poorly timed stock market trades, downsizing becomes his only option. As the newest resident of Rosewood Beach, he quickly becomes a regular at the Ocean Breeze Café—and one of Sally’s most challenging customers, offering unsolicited opinions on everything from the menu to the décor.

But it turns out the only thing stronger than Oscar’s grumpiness is Sally’s relentless optimism, and despite their differences, Sally begins to win him over with her lively banter and sunny smile.

When Sally needs help with some business decisions at the café, Oscar finds himself stepping in, rediscovering his confidence and realizing that his skills still have value. And for her part, Sally discovers that maybe a second chance at love is possible after all—and maybe her perfect match is the person who seemed like her complete opposite at first.

Meanwhile, Julia and Cooper return from their honeymoon to a big surprise! And Jacob and Hazel are busy working on renovating the new home they’ve bought—but even as they make progress on the house, they both realize that something is missing.

Take a trip to Rosewood Beach, where the water is warm, the sand is soft, and the Owens family is waiting to welcome you into their lives!

Another fun visit to one of my favorite small towns. I feel like I belong here as I know everyone so well now! This story features Sally and her cafe. Loving her restaurant, she does her best to make it a home to all. When Oscar comes to town though, he does his best to bring her down. Always a little jab here and there, but her sunshine keeps him coming back. She is beginning to realize that she may have missed something in life as Jacob and Hazel continue their quest to work on their house and take their life to the next level. And Julia and Cooper are dealing with cravings and Cash is just bringing his baby joy to everyone with Alexis and Grayson. Will Hazel win the heart of Oscar? I loved this for so many reasons. I love catching up with all the couples I have met, but this one is a special one. Oscar is trying to figure out his life after his financial downfall in New York. Hazel is just so darn sweet with her delicious sweet potato fries. It's a recipe for love!

Amy McFadden continues to be just so good! I don't know how she keeps all the voices straight, but from book to book, her voices remain consistent with the many characters she is performing. She is a pleasure to listen to.

Each one is so good! Love this one!
