Arguably the darkest chapter of human history so far...

I will never be willing to visit a pre-Columbian ruin knowing what happened. I appreciate the diseases had the large part, but this was true Genocide for financial gain, many could've recovered given a morsel of compassion. The accounts given are the most awful things I have ever heard and I never want to hear the likes of again.
