I had Philosophy at school and university and I always found the subject fascinating yet complex. In this great guide Dominic Hayes covers key ideas and theories brought about by great thinkers and how their views through history helped shape our current reality. I particularly enjoyed learning more about religions and how they were originated and the impact and history of the Catholic church. I thought the writing style was engaging and the narration was fantastic making these concepts easy to comprehend.

Very informative!

This title piqued my interest as I saw it as a way to "reboot" my education in philosophy from the university. I enjoyed the subject matter back then but really never dove into it due to my interest in another major. Listening to this, however, rekindled my love for this topic and helped reengage my mind in some great history! I love how philosophy and religion both converge and diverge in the text and how succinctly the author reveals this. The topic of philosophy is so relevant today, given the massive and super quick global cultural shifts that we're seeing today in modern society. I highly recommend this book if you want some answers to what's happening in the world. Oh...and the narration was spot on...Jeff Bower really made the subject matter come to life!

Excellent Book!!

I am incredibly thankful for the author's hard work in making this book succinct yet comprehensive; it enabled me to gain knowledge about influential figures that were not discussed in my class. This was an excellent start to exploring Western Philosophy, which I developed a strong admiration for during my college years. Unfortunately, I only had one course on the topic and have been eager to learn more since then. Thus, when I encountered this book it felt like destiny had intervened.

good choice
