About this listen

When Feyre kills a wolf, a beastlike creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a magical land, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal. As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it....

I loved Sarah J Mass' last series and can see the same thing happening with this. Although I wasn't too sure of Jennifer Ikeda's narration at first, I very quickly warmed to it. I would absolutely recommend this book to any and all fantasy fans.

I loved this stunning book! Brilliant story with plenty of twists and moments where I was left guessing what could possibly happen next!

Had I not just finished crescent city and wanted to check out the other works of the author I would have given up on this within the first quarter. I powered through a predictable love from hate story until it got interesting in the last quarter. It felt like a prequel world building book until the last quarter then I couldn’t put it down after that point so I will be giving the next book but if it doesn’t improve upon this one now the world building is done then I’d put this as a 2 star overall

Felt like a prequel world set up - hoping for more from the next

The only thing about this story that I enjoyed was the “narrator” that is saying much lol she saved this whole dull travesty of a story.

Everything els, I found mediocre, somewhat dull & yawningly boring in most parts. There was no high drama or nervous climatic scenes, no vulgarity (lol) no heart pounding suspense, disasters & no darkness or nothing horrific… no steam or heat 🫣 boringggg. Just a story stretch. I think not…

There are far better (young adult) books out there & even greater (new adulthood) genres that has more flavour and plenty more give, without the dreaded tedious stretch.

It’s a hard No from me, thank you!!!

Happy Listening 💕
