About this listen
Never promise a life that isn’t yours to give.
New York City is decked out for the holidays, and Special Agent Patrick Collins is looking forward to a reunion with his old team when he gets assigned a new case. A human child is missing, and the changeling left in her place causes a prominent witch family to demand justice from the fae.
Meanwhile, continued harassment from the New York City god pack forces Jonothon de Vere to formally establish his own with Patrick. Doing so will mean a civil war within the werecreature community - a war they risk losing from the start without alliances. Making bargains with the fae is never wise, but Patrick and Jono have nothing to lose when a fae lord comes asking for their help.
The Summer Lady has been kidnapped from the Seelie Court, and if they can find her, Patrick and Jono will cement an alliance with the fae. But the clues to her disappearance are found in Tír na nÓg, and the Otherworld has never been kind to mortals.
Venturing past the veil, Patrick and Jono risk losing territory, time, and their very lives while searching for answers. Because the Queen of Air and Darkness knows they are coming - and the ruler of the Unseelie Court has an offer for them they can’t possibly refuse.
A Crown of Iron & Silver is a 107k word m/m urban fantasy with a gay romantic subplot and a HFN ending. It is a direct sequel to All Souls Near & Nigh. Reading the prior books in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one.

So, I read this book when it came out because this series is one of my top favorites, and I reviewed it and totally stand by my review, especially after listening to Gary Furlong masterful performance of this audiobook. His accents, different voices and amazing delivery (especially of Wade's lines, he totally stole the show, LOL), somehow elevated this book to the stratosphere, which wasn't easy, because as you will read after this paragraph, I already loved A Crown of Iron & Silver to bits.
This has got to be my favorite book in the series so far and honestly, my top book this year. My review is not going to do justice to how awesome this book was, but really, if you haven't started reading this series, what are you waiting for? It just keeps getting better and better!
First of all, the cover! The colors, the composition, Patrick being his badass self? I love it all.
Then, of course, Patrick and Jono, whose relationship continues to deepen with each new installment and while yes, it's sort of slow going on the emotional front, we're making progress and it feels true to the characters, especially Patrick with all he's had to go through since he was a kid. The connection, the bond between them, their insane chemistry is a high point when reading these books, but in this one, we get something I've been dying for since the first book! Woo-hoo!
Wade, because he's amazing and a star in his own right. While I adore Patrick and especially Jono, Wade is special and I love all the scenes he's in.
Sage, Marek, Emma and Leo, wow, just wow. I've been waiting for Jono to finally do what he did in this book and it was all I've been hoping for. I know there'll be repercussions, but I'm actually looking forward to the fireworks when it happens.
Gerard and the Hellraisers, they added a lot to the story, seeing as they've known Patrick for a long time.
The world-building with all the mythology and fascinating characters thrown into the mix is one of my favorite parts of the series and seeing as I've always been interested in Celtic legends, this one was especially good for me.
Hailey's writing was so smooth. I love the transitions, the fights, her storytelling skills and how she can weave this fabulous world and make me see it so clearly. One thing I especially appreciate is that she gives us small background tidbits or reminders of what happened before in the series interspersed seamlessly into the story, without resorting to the dreaded flashbacks.
So, all in all, definitely a book and series you don't want to miss out on. I promise you won't regret picking it up.
Masterful!!!

The book is filled with Fae mythology this time around and I loved hearing Gary Furlong talk in elvish.
Patrick is the same, throwing himself head first into situations. Jono is settling into his role as a God Pack Alpha and he really needs to sort out Youssef and Estelle, who are again hassling everyone. My absolute favourite character this time around was Wade, his teenage attitude and smart mouth were brilliantly times and funnily believable.
As I said loved it can't wait for the next instalment.
The best so far.
