Ready to step into a high fantasy fae world and experience a loosely based Aladdin/ Rapunzel retelling, with a thief, a princess, a guard and a slightly insane with deplorable social interaction skills. The story itself was a slow-burn and slow-paced but with plenty of action to keep the reader engaged and on their toes. Incredibly well detailed that creates the most vivid picture in the reader's mind, the world building is top notch as expected from the authors.

I loved listening to the audio narrators describing the places, the characters, everything was just brought so much more to life with their talent and skill! Bridget and Jake are some of my all time favorite narrators, I could listen to them all day!

The Kingdom of Osaria, ruled by a man who is more pawn than King, the fearless, beautiful, resilient Princess will not let her people and kingdom fall to ruin, she would do anything to save it. Brave, loyal, courageous and with a strong backbone she is more than a match for the hoards of princes looking to gain her favour but will any of them succeed or will love come from the most unlikeliest of places? Well if our sexy, charismatic, leading male, a thief from the poor districts, with a tragic backstory and past he's had to fight for everything he has, including the right to survive. But with severe vanity issues, arrogance, and confidence is it any wonder he decides to pull of the scam of the century, to pose as a prince and win the princess' hand! Will he succeed? Or will a devoted guard hidden in the shadows steal his princess.

An enthralling world, with amazing characters that make your heart throb as much as you yearn to maim them at certain times makes for an addictive story and one I can not wait to find out how it ends!

I read the book initially before listening to it again through Bridget and Jake who truly brought it all to life. Amazing!

I loved the story. It had some good plot twists so it didn’t feel like the same story rehashed. I switched between reading and listening. I found the female narrator’s constant angst ridden vocal very hard to bear. All the female characters had angsty vocals which just made them seem annoying.

Good story
