About this listen

The bone-shaking new trilogy continues – the latest adventure in the bestselling Skulduggery Pleasant series

Vengeance is a killer.

A killer is stalking and murdering sorcerers, and Valkyrie Cain is next on his list.

While hunting down a cult of magical terrorists intent on taking their revenge on the mortal world, Skulduggery and Valkyrie are drawn into a murder investigation with unsettling similarities to a case they just closed – the case that nearly took the lives of both Valkyrie’s sister and girlfriend.

With the body count rising, a special night approaches – a night where the elite of sorcerer society will gather on a remote island to witness a ceremony that could change that society forever.

Speeches will be made, champagne will be sipped, and two things will become terribly, distressingly clear…

No one is safe. And not everyone will make it out alive.

Since I’m pretty sure this is the same reader id like for the pronunciation to be consistent for the main villain in the last few chapters compared to the earlier novels.but other than that the book was excellent if heart wrenching in too many ways for which i will blame the author of always doing his best to kill my favourite characters in the cruelest ways possible. But also i thank you because at least it wasn’t an overly drawn out event however i will not be happy with you for the next few years and if i was the kind of person to write Christmas cards or something you would he off my list until you felt properly shunned and ashamed .i am trying not to go into detail because spoilers are evil and all that but i will have you know Derrick you have made a mediocre enemy today and one who will continue to read your books until we see justice for our fallen idol like a nice memorial statue in corrival or at least a park bench, maybe a plaque, ill settle for a force ghost. But you cant give us 2 serpines 2 skeletons 2 Alice’s and only 1 of this guy well you can you’re the author but i will be upset and in my mourning period for at least 2more hours before i can joke on reddit that i saw this coming all along and definitely was not attached to this character at all in any way whatsoever’ good book 7/10 on the emotional trauma scale i will continue to read but i am glad i have time to process before the next book because ouch

Only issue is the change in how the narrator pronounces the villains real name compared to the previous books

Sorry Derek, you’re pulling at straws with the ending, and the whole Valkyrie ‘dies’ is way too many times for any sort of pseudo realism and the fact she is then immediately better due to her ‘energy reserves and a bit of healing’ - she may as well have kept her Darquess healing powers!

Interesting book in parts but one of my least favourites in the series.

Good book. Bizarre and and unwarranted ending

This was an amazing addition to the skullduggery pleasant book series, the twist and the ending were especially good.
