There is something very disturbing about a villain who is smarter than everyone else and knows exactly how to get what he wants. The story captures that feeling perfectly by staying entirely within the killer’s point of view as he goes about his daily business. It’s not just about the crimes themselves, but about the instinct that drives them and the design that makes them possible. The writing is simple and direct, which only makes the cold nature of the narrator stand out even more. This is a very memorable and unique take on the traditional psychological thriller genre.

This audio flew by as I was so engaged in listening. It felt like it was only an hour, and it was done, which to me means it was a really good story because it drew me in. The elements that almost got him caught were compelling and made you want to read more.

This psychological thriller had exactly what I needed for the weekend. A great book that kept me engaged and eager to turn the next page. This story about 13 killings, in which the last one, the killer messed up and is now in danger of being convicted, was a true page turner.
