About this listen
As betrayal and intrigue swirl around her, Lady Penelope finds herself inexorably drawn into the strong arms of the man she cannot resist.

Of all of the Bastion Gentlemen, he has the distinction (so far), to be the only one who has the moral character to be straightforward and truthful with his Lady!
This is the saving grace of this story - honest conversations between both lead characters. Lady Penelope is much like her predecessors, in that she’s strong willed and will not ever just “Stay here” when told to!
I dislike the unending details of their sex lives, to be honest, it doesn’t make good reading. I find it tedious.
The narrator, is not a favourite for me, because I personally dislike the way that she says “Grimace” and unfortunately all of the characters are grimacing all over the place!
In all honesty, I don’t recommend reading this series back to back, because they become monotonous and predictable.
The intrigue behind the stories are interesting and well thought out, but they take too long to tell!
An Abridged version would be more satisfying.
A good story - strung out too long!

I fear though the story, sounded good. However, I really couldn't swallow his arrogant, bullying and patronising manner.
The heroine original portrait as a strong managing woman, turns out to be a wet blanket. Just willing to be used, pushed around and walked over. All in the name of love.
Also for a single woman , to let it be known, she has a lover, would be ruinous. As servants always gossip.
Even the gratuitous sex, falls into the background with such an obnoxious Hero.
The Hero is a Smart Arse.
