About this listen
Inspired by a true story, A Land More Kind Than Home is a spellbinding, heartbreaking tale about cruelty and innocence - and the failure of religion and family to protect a child. It is thick with stories and characters connected by faith, infidelity, and a sense of hope that is both tragic and unforgettable.

The book looks back at family life over several generations and the reasons the a community would fall under the thrall of such an abhorrent leader.
The characters are beautifully acted by the different readers and their stories told, with those they know in a way that is very convincing for the person they are.
