About this listen

Could an unconventional meeting lead to a happy ending or a lifetime of longing? Dwelling in the quaint little town of Asheboro, North Carolina, had its perks. It wasn’t just a town, it was a way of life to rally together. Everyone knew each other, and they also knew your business as well.

Grace Rollins had proudly called this community home since birth, but returning after time away could prove to be unpleasant, as her husband, Tommy, continued his old ways of womanizing. Finally taking a stand against her husband and regaining her freedom, Grace would often find herself alone and drowning her sorrows in a bottle. Until one day she became quickly sober by the realization that her small child was watching her spiral downward. She became desperate to keep her head above water. She had no idea that her life would change forever when her phone rang that night. Jake Brooks was just doing his job, but his natural charismatic nature couldn’t be denied by Grace. If Tommy Nixon had his way, he would be the last man standing.

Despite his despicable ways, Tommy always got his way. Or does he?

This is somewhat same old story but with a definite hometown flair. Grace is a pretty amazing character and so is her daughter. I love that she called her grandma lovely. It was adorable and for some reason I could picture young Sheldon’s grandma. Tommy just had no boundaries or cares and was as sorry as lovely describes him. I was wonderful that Grace found new love. As you get attached to the family life moves on and some start to pass. I hate how this story ended but it can be how life truly treats us. Very realistic. My only issue was the bringing up of Tommy near the end and the old house after his other wife and kid left? Is their more to that story that was not added?

Narration was nice and enjoyable. Making me feel I was back in time hearing it from her,
