This kept all of us, my 7 year old daughter, 9 year old son, husband and me all hooked. It was a really imaginative and unusual story. My daughter found some of the descriptions of the eyes a little gory, but it was perfectly pitched to provide a little mild horror without being too scary. Would highly recommend.

I've flitted around from all of Phillip Pullman's novels in one go, to gritty police drana/thrillers ,.historically based mysteries and back to a right good story aimed at youngsters and I have always known that this is my go to genre and I'm 48....and I will not apologise for it. Such imagination and humour and a VERY good reader too, totally recommend!!!

My Children and I absolutely loved this book. it's got everything you need in a story and keeps you guessing. I noted the third book in the series is out on audible but not the second book. Any chance of this being released???????
