When celebrity gardener Finn O’Leary returns to his hometown of Abbeyford, Ireland, to care for his ageing mother, he is quickly roped into the local Tidy Towns committee. I like Ardal O'Hanlon as an actor and listening to him was fine, but every character's voice sounded similar and so I began to lose track of who was speaking and even what was happening.
The story was too slow, and the exposition became too much. I listened for just over 2 hours before I gave up. It's sad because I've been looking forward to this book being released.

Loved the ‘laugh out loud’ dialogue, be careful with any beverage whilst submersing yourself in this proper crime caper, you’re more than likely to shower any nearby pets (or family). Still smiling- bloody well done Ardal.

Nothing to dislike, loved everything, story really different, learned about Ireland my heritage..narration brilliant and subtlety funny throughout. An all round pleasure to listen to, hope he continues writing. Wonderful.

I was really looking forward to this - I’m a fan of the author. It’s pleasant enough but it’s not the amusing caper I was hoping for.

The plots fairly complex but still well worn and there’s a lot of exposition to explain what’s happening. That gets a bit tedious.

There’s possibly too many eccentric character too It’s ok. But I’d hoped for a lot more particularly as the authors an actor, I’d hoped to be wowed by the narration.

I was really looking forward to listening to this novel but found the storyline slow and honestly I simply lost interest in the plot. I like Ardal as an actor but his narration was flat, all characters sounded the same except for the poor attempt at an Australian accent. I gave up half way through.
