The King is dead. Long live the King. And death to his enemies.

Bargained away to Dawn Court, Kat must play the part of a helpless human bewitched by the Day King. But beneath the veneer of submission, she's playing a far more dangerous game—spying for Dusk Court, and for the one person who holds her heart: Bastian.

Separated from the woman he loves, Bastian has no time to rage against fate—or his queen. With his city on the brink of collapse and war brewing, he must uncover the truth before a devastating betrayal shatters everything he's fought to protect.

As the enemy's hold on Kat tightens, secrets from the past threaten to unravel the courts' fragile alliance. Every step brings the couple closer to a deadly choice: risk everything for love—or lose it all to the lies that bind them.

With danger, desire, and dark secrets, A Promise of Lies is the epic conclusion to Shadows of the Tenebris Court, an addictive romantasy trilogy ideal for fans of morally grey shadow daddies and heroines who refuse to give up—even when death seems set to win.

Amazing story. The male voice is terrible and at times ruined the flow of the story. Overall I really enjoyed the book

Great love story

Overall the story is good and Cat’s narrator as well. But Bastians narrator is really bad. He only reads with the same intonation and it is so annoying that I thought several times on quitting the book and a lot of times i zoned out. It is just terrible.

Bastian Narrator is Bad :(

Liam Price ended all his sentences as a question. it was horrible to listen to. had to speed up all his chapters to get through.

Narration ruined the book

I enjoyed the close out of this series although it laboured the thought of ‘what will we do next?’ so much it felt a little anticlimactic. There were some interesting twists and turns in the plot.
I nearly gave up listening due to the male narrator’s delivery that ended every sentence on a pause so that it sounded robotic and stilted. But I wanted to know what happened so listened to him on 1.2x speed to get through those chapters.
Overall, it was an enjoyable series.

Love the story, Kat sounds brilliant, but what the hell with Bastian, his voice is awful. I would have stopped listening had the story not be that good. Why dos he go up at the end of every sentence

Great but lacking
