About this listen

"You betrayed your brother to steal a broken crown."

The kingdom stands on the brink of chaos. Atticus's grip on the realm is faltering, and as threats arise ever closer to home he is driven to increasingly desperate acts to hold onto power.

With Islor's fate now in the balance, Zander stands to defend the Rift from the oncoming Ybarisan army. With the king's forces scattered, he must risk unlikely new alliances.

And behind the walls of Ulysede, secrets wait for its new queen. Romeria knows that the paths of the hidden city will lead her to answers. But will they be enough to save the realm—or is their fate already sealed?

The story continues with lots of twists and unexpected turns. The prophecy finds a way but you can't help but have hope for the courageous people who dare to stand up for what is right and for the plight of the weak and undefended amongst them.

Gripping story.

The fate and flame trilogy is excellent - I cannot wait for the 4th book come Sept!!
Elizabeth Flett is absolutely amazing as narrator. The multiple characters with each their own distinctive voice. Well done!

Best narrator ever

I enjoyed the book but as a Brit myself (northern at that) it seems as if the narrator has read a list of the diference between accents. She over exaggerates certain vowels but then goes full RP the rest of the time. Other chapters were good tho and her RP accent was good with the exception of a couple of funny pronunciations like culinary

Good but the Grayson chapters were painful

While I listened to the first two books in a week, I've had this one going on for over a month. There were too many chapters of characters I didn't feel interesting, even if their POV served to contribute to the rest of the story. I like Romeria, I do not mind Zander, I quite enjoyed Atticus, but Gracin and Agatha's chapters felt impossibly long and mostly boring. I doubt I'll listen to the fourth book, although I might consider reading it on Kindle.
