What if Cinderella had been sent to kill the prince?

Kayden never thought of herself as the belle of the ball, but she finds herself in the royal palace, surrounded by society darlings - and the only thing she has in common with them is that they're all vying for the prince. They're after his crown. She's after his head.

Her mission was simple - get close to the prince, and kill him.

Kayden entered the palace under a lie, one designed to get her close to the prince. On the outside, she may look like a princess, but beneath the mask, a killer lays in wait - for the perfect moment.

Dvarius was not ready to take the crown, nor was he ready for a wife. But due to his father’s unexpected death and an archaic law, he must find a bride before he is allowed to take his rightful place on the throne.

And the one woman he wants - just might be the one who is there to kill him.

An assassin that feels more like a late teenager/young adult and thrust into the bachelor, princely edition- what’s not to like? Win the prince, win the crown, but then there’s the whole order to kill the prince deal throwing a wrench in things. The prince also has strong faith in God that you get a peak into. If I had something in the story I didn’t like it’s that I read a similar story 2 weeks ago- almost the exact same plot except with witches. - And the narrator. Oh the narrator. She wasn’t a robot (thankfully) but was very sing songy and rhythmic. At one point the prince was pouring his heart out to God and she sounded like he was strolling through the garden. It was kind of like a grandma was sitting in a rocker and reading to me while she knit- not paying a bit of attention to what’s happening in the story she’s reading (knitting priorities y’all).

Entertaining story with faith intertwined

I really enjoyed this book. These characters find each other against all the odds. When your head and heart want opposite things it’s going to get emotional. I’m dying for the next book. Krys is fast becoming my new favourite narrator! What a great performance.

This book has all the feels

I loved the story but the narrator was just too monotone for my liking. If you can ignore the narrator it’s a good book

Great story but

This is an exciting and entertaining book. The heroine can come across as a little weak and indecisive considering she is a trained assassin but, overall this is a thrilling book. The narrator has an interesting voice to listen to.
