About this listen

Raised in a trading port, I'd seen my share of attractive sailors.

But I'd never cared to get to know one, let alone allow one to follow me around, drawing my neighbors' suspicions that I was a seductress. Until the day I pulled him from the water.

I found him drowned and alone, and I breathed life into him before I knew his name. But the moment Kye opened his golden-brown eyes, I fell under a spell I couldn't escape, until I found myself trapped under his knife.

He betrayed me to my enemies, this man who owes me his life. And I hate him.

To him, it's a game of power. But to me, it's freedom or captivity.

With every dark gaze, every whispered threat, I find myself drawn to him against my will. But I refuse to fall for him a second time.

He'll have to kill me first.

Overral this is was a great story that really kept me wanting more. I have soooo many questions and I hope they will all be answered in the next book(hopefully this will a duo POV). The voice actors were mostly good .. I just had a hard time understanding the pirate’s accent (it was a weird one). Nevertheless I am looking forward to book 2.

Interesting book

I didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. It was a really gripping story and the writing had me fully immersed in island life at times.
The narration was good although I found some of the character accents a little jarring and hard to understand at times. But overall a thoroughly enjoyable listen and I highly recommend. Really looking forward to the second book.

Really gripping story

On all accounts the book was excellent, if a little frustrating. It’s getting a free pass because a) this wasn’t disgustingly sexually graphic which I appreciate and b) I really dug the effort and research that went into this. Also dick jokes. 😂
But when I tell you this audio has some of the most fundamentally abhorrent accents, made worse by the fact that she’s a good voice actor but these Irish/scottish/french(??) accents?! Not her strong suit.
For more reviews follow me on Fable, I’m judgey 🥰

The terrible accents omg!!
