About this listen

All Delora ever wanted was to disappear.

Thrown into the Veil for a crime she committed, Delora was discarded by the world. Although afraid of her oncoming demise, she accepts it as it would be a worldly escape from her problems. She didn’t expect that she would wake up from her deadly fall, nor that the person who saved her would be a Duskwalker.

She’s wary about him at first, but Delora begins to realise there’s more to him than just a faceless monster.

All he ever wanted was a name.

After discovering that humans can be kept as companions, he begins planning for the day he finds his own bride. He still lacks humanity and there is much to learn first. One morning when leaving his cave, a human suddenly crashes into him from the sky. Broken and sleeping, he gets to work on healing the woman.

It doesn’t take him long to understand she’s wounded in a way his magic can’t heal.

But will he be able to gain her affections, or will she come to hate him as he stumbles his way through learning about her – and more importantly, himself?

I loved the story and love MMC and how he discovered his humanity and love for FMC, but my god, she whines, which winds me up at times, but the story was so good, and she got better through the book.
Love this series

Brilliant, but my god she whines

I'd seen so many reviews saying this was too "woke". It's absolutely not 😂 The story isn't as compelling as ASTK but its still good. the FMC is a little annoying, but that seems to be the choice of the VA. Magnar is adorable and he deserves the world! Definitely worth the read.

Not as good as the first one

Loved the first book. But book 1 and 2 are written for very different people. Was apprehensive about this one due to reviews saying the FMC is annoying and yeah kinda true.. but I absolutely loved our MMC duskwalker. I guessed it was gonna be about nameless and honestly his story was better than I could have ever imagined. I fell in love with him instantly. His progression was beyond cute and it broke my heart a time or two. For him alone I would have rated this book 5/5.

Be warned, it is absolutely nothing like the first book! This book just felt like I was getting a lesson about gender pronouns, mental health and plus size body acceptance. Like it was trying to be inclusive of everything and I didn’t have the patience for it lol. Felt like the author was trying to appease every single gen Z/X reader out there. The only reason I bought the book was to follow the ongoing world development since there was obviously a lot that’s yet to happen. If all the books are gonna be so vastly different, they’re obviously not going to appease to all readers - for that reason they should have been standalone books.

Towards the end the writing becomes more and more basic. If it wasn’t for the 🌶️ scenes I would have thought it was written for children.

Seems silly that there’s already 7 books out but only 2 audiobooks? Looking forward to when they’re released though.

New favourite duskwalker, but hated everything else

I tried so hard to enjoy this, but the choice that the female voice actress made to make the FMC into a nasally, whiny, borderline cartoon villain really ruins it all.

The book is good. Probably. It’s hard to say over the whining.

Absolutely unbearable female voice actress
