About this listen

Fairy garden store owner Courtney Kelly believes in inviting magic into your life. But when uninvited trouble enters her shop, she’ll need more than a sprinkling of her imagination to solve a murder....

Since childhood, Courtney has loved fairies. After her mother died when Courtney was 10, she lost touch with that feeling of magic. A year ago, at age 29, she rediscovered it when she left her father's landscaping business to spread her wings and start a fairy garden business and teashop in beautiful Carmel, California. At Open Your Imagination, she teaches garden design and sells everything from fairy figurines to tinkling wind chimes. Now she's starting a book club tea.

But the light of the magical world she's created inside her shop is darkened one night when she discovers neighboring dog-grooming business owner Mick Watkins dead beside her patio fountain. To make matters worse, the police suspect Courtney of the crime. To clear her name and find the real killer, Courtney will have to wing it. But she’s about to get a little help from an unexpected source...

This was just not for me, in fact I nearly didn't finish it. I liked the idea of the plot but there was to much how to design and make your own Fairy garden, yes I know it is the job of the main character but what does that have to do with solving the murder? It just seemed to slow the story down and didn't really add to the fun. I also couldn't connect to the main character, I don't know if it was just the choice of narrator but it droned on and I listened to a few other audio books before finishing this one. So maybe it was just me. I liked the Fairy but won't be joining them for another mystery.
Not everyone is pleased to see Courtney open up a Fairy garden shop in there town. So when a dead body is found in her shop the police take a closer look at her. Courtney knows there are better suspects the her, like his cheated apon wife, the mistress of even the land Lord who wasn't his dog grooming business to close. But can she find the killer? Even with Fairy magic it will be hard.
As I said I am not sure the narrator was a good choice. The voice she gave the characters were fine it was her speaking voice that just seemed slightly monotonous.
