About this listen

Forged by fire. Burnt by ice. When Niall accepted his role as the Flame’s champion, no one mentioned the Flame had a nemesis—nor what would happen if someone woke them up. With the stakes higher than ever, Niall is once again forced to answer a call of duty beyond his wildest imagination—although this time he has the support of friends who will follow and fly with him anywhere.

Overwhelmed but determined, he sets out to squash the opposing deity’s uprising. However, when family lies and ties begin to blur the lines of reality, Niall quickly finds his bonds stretched and the threat of the Frost even graver. If Niall cannot be the champion the worlds need him to be, chaos will reign, and a little summer snow will be the least of their problems…

I loved this sequel. You do need to read/listen to In the Name of the Flame first, because this one jumps straight in. Niyall and Enya’s journey continues with bigger stakes, new characters, and plot twists that kept surprising me.
It’s detailed and immersive in the best way, no spice, just a sweet romance and a fantastic story.

Loved it! A perfect follow up to Book 1

The first book in this duology (In the name of the Flame) is fast paced, with an intricate, beautifully woven story. This book continues that narrative but taking it to astonishing exponential heights!
It's a fantastic read on so many levels. The narrative is complex, convoluted and full of clever, unexpected twists. As always with Alexia Muelle Rushbook's books, the character development is so engrossing. You feel you really get to know them.
I cannot recommend this book enough (read the first one before!)
Flawlessly narrated by Brandon J. Peterson (also voiced the first book) and Amelia Hugh, it's a joy to listen to.

Excellent!

An excellent follow up to 'In the Name of the Flame'. The epic fantasy gets stepped up with war between the Flame and it's ancient enemy, the Frost, for the future of three worlds.

Epic Fantasy with a touch of romance
