This story drew me in, consumed me, and didn't want to let me go.
Hearing Ellery and Ryker step into their roles of leadership was awe-inspiring. They were both so strong and perfect together. Ryker is one of the most swoon worthy male leads ever, his protectiveness of Ellery is 🥵. I adore Ellery as well; she is so kind and selfless. Together their chemistry was off the charts hot!!
There is an event that happens in this audiobook that I did not see coming and it was one of the best things I’ve listened to, I’m so insanely glad it happened! It made me so nostalgic of Braith and Aria (from her Captive series). I just love the little found family they have in the woods, if anything happens to certain, loveable side characters (cough Tucker, Mouse, Ianto), I will be sobbing.
The action in this one was shocking, nail-biting, and vivid.
There were certain moments and characters that were amazing to hear in audio and Meg Price, as always, delivered, sounding phenomenal.
Unfortunately, there were errors at the end of chapters twenty-one and fifty-seven and also strange formatting of the chapter titles.
We all know Brenda K Davies is an amazing writer but this time she outdid herself. A perfect Robin Hood retelling, paranormal romance, full of action, spice and gooey romance. It’s a fantastic listen that will certainly be on my best reads of 2025.
