Based on the title, I was expecting two stories, but it actually had a third bonus short story. I listened to the audiobook version and I think they would have been better presented in a different order. The highlights of the second book are already covered in the first book, but the short story adds information that I think would have been helpful to set it up as a prequel (so book 1, then 3, then 2). Otherwise I would have preferred to read the events in chronological order (book 2, then 1, then 3).

I loved the performance and how Allison Black varied the accents based on the time period, though it was more difficult to tell the voices apart when they all had accents.

Aside from the order, I found the story to be interesting and liked the characters. The second book added more dimension to the characters of the first book, especially for Caipre and Aengus' parents.

This story was pure magic. There was love, heartache, villains, and magic. I have grown to really love audio books and this book is the perfect example of why. The hero and heroine were superb, but the villain was well crafted. (There is literally no other words to describe Caipre, my word!) There were a few plot twists to keep the story from being too predictable, but they were brilliant! The narration was exquisite! The personalities attached to each character had me literally sitting at my desk just staring at my Audible app! I just couldn't believe how Allison Black was able to do such wondrous work!

I have fallen in love with audiobooks. As I have always said, good narration will enhance a story, but great narration will make the characters come to life for you so that they live in your mind for days. A Tethered Duet had a great narrator. I was so engrossed in the story that at one point I rolled my eyes at something one of the characters did. Then I realized these weren't real people, and wondered why I was talking back to them. The way Allison Black narrated the story, I felt like I was in Ireland, as her Irish accent was superb. Not only was the narration outstanding, but the story was, too. Just when I thought it was going to be predictable, the author would throw in a plot twist that made me all the more eager to see how Abby and Aengus's story would turn out. Caipre was an exquisite villain who was not predictable at all. When I thought it would be easy to defeat him, another plot twist was thrown in. Allison's voicing of Caipre allows the listener to feel and visualize his obsession for Abby. The narration gets 5 stars, and overall, I give it 4.5 stars.

Have you ever just gone to the end of a book to see how it ends, then this is the book for you. But just because you know the ending you will definately want to know how they got there.

Wow,,,I didn't see that coming.
