About this listen

A Texas Story - A mysterious Oblate Catholic Priest with a past seeks shelter in a stage coach transit station between Seguin and San Antonio, Texas. Father Bissionette, a missionary priest plants a church in the Texas Hill Country. This eventually leads to the founding of the town of Guadalupe, Texas. The town and the people prosper and are Texas kind, but soon the ugly face of racism rises up in town when the city elders hire a new Town Marshall and eight deputies. They have an open disdain for Mexicans and enforce the law with extreme prejudice against the Mexican people. The city is fractured until a true "Son of the Town" returns to Guadalupe and is able to reunite the community.

A Texas Story takes place in the mid 1800's and centers around two prominent ranch owners that own large cattle operations next to each other. Kevin Garrett owns the North Star Ranch and Antonio Riojas owns the Rio Blanco Ranch. The White and Mexican worlds collide violently when Kevin Garett's beautiful daughter Helen falls in love with Zacarias Carlos Rojas, the dashing son of Antonio Riojas. Both families endure pain and tragedy as the story unfolds. Only true forgiveness, love, and redemption is able to bring the Garrett family and the town of Guadalupe together.
