Summary

It’s autumn at the Comfort Food Café and the leaves are golden, the lattes are spiced and love might just be brewing for one new resident…

🍁🎃🍁🎃🍁

Reclusive author Sarah is seeking refuge in the quiet village of Budbury, and the last thing she needs is a fake boyfriend. Except that’s exactly what she gets – and the fake boyfriend just happens to be gorgeous, rugged Aidan, complete with an easy charm and an old soul that makes him seem like he’s just stepped straight out of the pages of a novel. Using him to keep her nosy family at bay, he’s happy to do her a favour in return for help with his rather unusual dog-sitting predicament.

But nothing in Budbury stays pretend for long. Especially not when there’s a hint of autumn magic in the air, with a sprinkle of Halloween mischief.

Full of heart, humour and a touch of spooky charm, this is the perfect cosy read for autumn nights.

I do love a Debbie Johnson book and loved that it was narrated by Coleen Pendergast, she is one of my favourite narrators.
The comfort food cafe series is brilliant and this is a fabulous addition to it. It was like visiting old friends and making new ones! I definitely recommend this, it can be read/listened to without reading the others but if you are familiar with the other books it makes it a whole lot better in my opinion.

Great to listen to!

I loved this book was a little predictable but aren’t all these books. With the love interest. I really enjoyed the whole series of books I couldn’t wait to listen to the next. As this is the last I will sadly have to find another book but I’m sure they won’t be as good and as heart warming as this series.

So enjoyable

This is a really enjoyable story of life in a small Dorset village but very predictable and formulaic - girl has a traumatic event - goes to live in a small village intending to hide away - meets a gorgeous man - falls in love - keeps him at arms length - they get together - misunderstanding - split up - get back together - nice but you know exactly how it's going to end ....

Enjoyable but predictable

I loved this lastest book in the series. I liked they way another person finds their way to Budbrie. The comfort food Cafe ladies work there magic on this new resident who is determined to not to mix to be taken into the community. It's a book about healing and freindship and second chances.
