.. when Cole stared to telling the story I almost dropped the whole book. He's reading without any pause.. so aggravating. You don't know where the sentence ends and where the next one begins! I'm glad i listend some more.. and I can't wait for the next book!

The blurb doesn't do the plot justice. It is a sweeping epic filled with Gods and goddesses. The plot is a multi layered suspense filled with intrigue and political drama. The characters are swoon worthy. The world building is dynamic.
I am ready for book 2.
Thank you for the great book and narration.
My only complaint, is I wanted more Anthony Palmini. He is my favorite narrator.

If, like me, you picked this audiobook because of Anthony Palmini, then turn back now. He only features in the very last bonus chapter!!! Yes!!! I was massively disappointed especially as wow, as other people have already said, the other male narrator sounds like a robot! The narration is so monotone I had to listen to his chapters on x2 speed to get through it. I think I listened to the majority of this book on x2 speed actually. The fact that they had 4 narrators and could have got them to do duet narration but instead, each voiced a character's chapter. The story was a bit all over the place, the characters are annoying and whiny! Katrin is supposed to be this strong character but my god she was annoying although not as annoying as her sister Ember so couldn't be bothered training and getting ready for her role until a few weeks ago then suddenly is strong enough to challenge Kohl is a dual? Not buying that. There were so many bits that annoyed me I can't even begin to write them all down. Safe to say I won't be listening to book two unfortunately.

I genuinely cannot explain how bad this AI narration is.

The male narrator doesn’t even sound human. It’s flat, robotic, and completely strips every ounce of emotion from the story.

I’m only 8% in and I’ve already given up. I tried to push through… I really did… but it’s actually painful to listen to.

This one’s a DNF for me 🎧❌

The male narration is so bad that I can’t finish the book. I’m about two hours in, I want to know where to story is going but I can’t whit the narration. It’s like a really bad AI performance
