About this listen

The System is watching.

After ensuring Earth’s protection from off-world invaders and clearing countless dungeons, Xavier’s power has reached new heights.

But the Tower of Champions still has some surprises in store for the True Progenitor, and the System doesn’t always play fair.

Gone were the days he could stomp each floor with ease—now he truly has to become a force to be reckoned with if he’s to not only survive, but thrive.

Don't miss book 4 of the action-packed LitRPG Apocalypse Series by Todd Herzman, with levels, a detailed System, classes, skills, towers, loot, & everything you love about progression fantasy. It's perfect for fans of Defiance of the Fall, System Universe, and He Who Fights With Monsters

Surprising turn of events

I'm very much enjoying the series, it contains many of the genre staples, while still managing to be different and nuanced enough to hold my interest.

Minor spoiler incoming.......

Ok, so this installment was almost entirely MC character, skill, power and path development; it was done very well and it introduced enough new environments, powers, characters and challenges to be worthwhile. The MC goes through some significant changes, so much so, that I anticipate this being a key turning point in the overall narrative. Selfishly I could have done with the developmental montage being condensed so that we could bear witness to more of the pay off in the closing chapters. That said, hats off to the author for building anticipation for the next book...Personally I can't wait

More please!...Minor spoiler alert included

Just one word I can think to say about this instalment and that is ‘AMAZING’

Amazing

You could delete 85% of sentences and still have the same book, and probably still paced badly.
So much is reiterating the same sentence slightly differently over and over again. Padding how little actually happens. Hey chat GPT, stretch this sentence out for a page..

It's Monday today, not yet Tuesday, or even Wednesday , Xavier thought? I'm sure, the day that it is today, is indeed Monday... Xavier sat down, it was Sunday yesterday, wasn't it? And Monday follows Sunday, that's what he believed, and he was certain of his beliefs, particularly in matters like this, Xavier stood. It's Monday! Xavier declared... after seeing the calender on the wall... It's Monday Xavier affirmed to himself, still standing.
he shook his head to wipe away the hesitance, from side to side, first to the left, and then to the right.
And with that, Xavier then re equipped the ring of Monday buffs, the item, in the shape of a ring that provides buffs, but only sometimes, on one day of the week, never Thursdays, that day is always Monday. and it is Monday today. As Xavier had already confirmed, So this will work, Xavier thought, won't it? Yes it will Xavier said while preparing to sit. He put on the ring, on his finger, where rings go, and because it's Monday. the ring of Monday buffs activated. It applied buffs, and with this, Xavier was ready, to continue his preparations
