Welcome to Myrtlewood, a quirky town steeped in magic, tea, and mystery…

Life's a struggle for Rosemary Thorn and her teen daughter, Athena. But their regular troubles are turned upside down after Granny Thorn's mysterious death.

Despite her cousin's sinister maneuverings, Rosemary returns to Myrtlewood and the sprawling, dilapidated Thorn Manor. There's more to the old house than meets the eye, as Rosemary and Athena soon find out—in a whirlwind of magic, adventure, mystical creatures, and endless cups of tea.

Life in Myrtlewood would be bliss if Rosemary could only clear her name in a certain murder investigation, solve the mystery and stay out of mortal peril—for at least a little while!

A small town with endless secrets, strange activities, and a house with a mind of its own.

gave up listening to the audiobook after the 4th chapter, the voices the narrator puts on are so off putting, Athena sounds like a spoiled annoying brat and Rosemary sounds like an angry old man, not to mention the weird voice and accents the narrator gives the other characters. Might read the book and see where it goes, some elements I enjoyed from the storyline so far, but not convinced yet.

unbearable narrator

On the whole the story wasn't bad but was marred by being too simplistic and mixing American and Enhlish terminology. I ended up not knowing quite where I was and suspecting the author was an American trying to set a story in England.

The reading, however, was dreadful with the main character sounding like she was trying to impersonate an old pirate. This, I strongly suspect marred my overall enjoyment of the book.

was expecting so much more.

the narration was so off putting. The mum was some slow mechanical robot. I found it tiring to listen to and wanted to speed it up ! gave up in the end. shame as story seemed good !

didn't finish it !

The story was ok. The narrator not so much. The bizarre pronunciation of Rosemary (Rosemoy) was very off putting. And the odd husky tone and going up at the end of sentences was irritating. But I did manage to listen to the whole book, and will try others in the series

Ok. Not great

I happened upon this book through an advert on Facebook through audio.
never listened or read from this author before.
very pleasantly surprised.
such great value for money.
I did enjoy this book and listened to the end.
only thing that got on my nerves sometimes was how the daughter was talking to her mum.
however I loved the narrator and the story on how they both come into their powers and how they find who murdered their grandma.

Great read
