Summary

Children are not supposed to rescue their parents, life is supposed to be the other way around. And rescues aren't supposed to be needed on the trip out to the new colony planet Valhalla. Slow, yes. Boring, yes. Dangerous? No, the trip is not supposed to be dangerous, never has been.

When thieves attack the transport ship to steal an ancient alien artifact, and young Kaylee and her brother, Manny, are cut off from their parents, they have to stop the thieves from getting what they want, because once the thieves have the artifact, they're not leaving any witnesses.

Good read

Although the story is catching, the intended audience seem to be rather young. Well performed, but if you are older than 14, this might not be for you. Which is OK. Don’t expect any intellectual challenges, though…

It turns out that the dad is not just uninterested in his daughter's actual life and opinions, he also likes to control her life, clothes, entertainment.

And some how they are allowed to take unlimited crap on a space journey. No reason to pack carefully, apparently. No required items, no forbidden items.

Sexist dad is even allowed to bring a black mystery to box on board.

And with his wife and others he is more of a sociopath. Making sure to bring up bad news in public. So she doesn't "make a scene". Is this future set in the 1950:s? What is this crap?

This is incredibly bad. Luckily I have a fever and time to try it anyway.

Expeditionary Force had a few strange parts as well, which I considered being part of the characters, also it was read by Bray, so that might have lessened some of the tone present here. I wouldn't say this is the worst ever, but I can't believe it is the same author.

Sure, fine this dad is just a douche. But the whole story revolves around his constant idiotic worries and neuroses. Who cares. Where's the plot?!

no where near as funny or engaging as the awesome beer can series and the kids voices are a little contrived but perhaps would be fun if I was 10.

Kids book and should be advertised as such
