About this listen

Two's company, three's a crowd.

Summer break is here, and Adachi's determined to spend it with Shimamura. Unfortunately, Shimarmura's old friend Tarumi has beaten her to the punch—as Adachi discovers when she catches the two of them together.

Will this rude awakening give Adachi the push she needs to finally confess her feelings? And is Shimamura even ready to hear them if she does?

Adachi’s crashout on the phone with 4 volumes behind it was worth the wait. Honestly tempted to go read the light novels after binging the last 4 volumes but I think the amazing voice performance is part of its charm for me. Can’t wait for part 2, though I’m not too on Adachi’s chances. Shimamura will at least become more aware of her feelings going forward. I think from book 1-2 Adachi’s feelings could either be interpreted as being in love with Shimamura or just wanting a close relationship as Shimamura understands it to be, Adachi herself not quite about to put it into words… until now. I’m not quite convinced they’ll end up together in the end or just be best friends, though it’s clear Tarumi is gonna fail, given she’s in love with the old Shimamura, someone that doesn’t really exist anymore. Shimamura’s misunderstanding is verging on insane, but I also think Adachi really does come off as just that socially inept. It’s that social ineptness that also makes me think maybe Adachi isn’t actually in love with Shimamura even if she herself thinks so. I think these kinds of growing pains is why I find the sorry so charming. Like with Shimamura misunderstanding Adachi’s romantic feelings, though it more-so feels like a wilful ignorance at this point. I’m really curious how the phone call went from Shimamura’s perspective, maybe we’ll see it in the next volume.
Really enjoyed all the volumes so far, especially volume 4, can’t wait for the rest.
