Summary

Random House presents the audiobook edition of After the Party by Lisa Jewell, read by Imogen Church.

Eleven years ago, Jem and Ralph fell in love. They thought it would be for ever, that they’d found their happy ending.

Then two became four, a flat became a house. Romantic nights out became sleepless nights in.

And they soon found that life wasn’t quite so simple any more.

Now two people who were so right together are starting to drift apart. As they try to find a way back to each other, back to what they once had, they both become dangerously distracted.

But maybe it’s not too late to recapture happily ever after ...

Love all Lisa Jewell books, so real, so very readable. Usually love the narration, but almost discarded this one . The bright abrasiveness jarred so much. Was about to order ‘Ralph’s party’, but can’t cope with narrator. Will read the book instead. Lisa Jewell is my favorite author. Highly recommend all her books.

I thought the storyline dragged a bit and I became very bored in some parts.

Not as good as other books by this author

Having loved The Party I was looking forward to see how Gem and Ralph turned out but I think this felt a bit like hearing the problems a spoilt middle class woman has with the realities of life and commitment and justifying having an affair. No explanation of how Ralph and Gem get past that issue when in truth Ralph did nothing that would justify Gems actions. Left me thinking that Gem would do it again to Ralph as soon as life got in the way of her fairytale ideas. However I was once again caught up in the book to the end and the narration was excellent.

A little bit disappointing
