About this listen

Feeling stiff, sluggish, or older than you should—even though you’re trying to stay active? Wondering why your body doesn’t move the way it used to? You’re not alone…

In a world where sitting is the new normal and movement is increasingly optional, loss of mobility has quietly become one of the biggest threats to our long-term health. Tight hips, aching shoulders, and restricted joints aren’t just inconveniences—they’re early warning signs of decline. But what if you could turn back the clock on your body’s freedom to move?

In Ageless Movement–The Power of Mobility, fitness and movement expert Nick Swettenham reveals how to restore functional strength, flexibility, and effortless motion at any age. The mobility assessment test at the beginning of the book was a great starting point. It helped me to stop guessing and start targeting my actual needs. I was surprised to find that my tight hips were actually a symptom of other restricted areas I hadn't even considered. Having a personalized plan meant I could stop wasting time on generic stretching routines that weren't yielding results and instead focus on high-priority areas that offered the most relief.

I was drawn to this because staying mobile matters so much as we get older, and this sounds like a realistic way to work on that without turning it into a huge fitness project. I like that it seems geared toward everyday people, not just athletes, and focuses on simple routines you can build into real life. The added PDF is a nice bonus too, especially for following along with exercises. This sounds like a useful listen for anyone wanting to feel looser, stronger, and less stiff day to day.

I just finished Ageless Movement, and it had that rare mix of clarity, calm, and real world usefulness that makes you want to actually get up and try the exercises. I listened during a slow morning stretch, and the explanations around mobility, functional strength, and body mechanics made everything click in a way that felt empowering rather than intimidating.
