After listening to the sample, I was very curious to listen to the whole story as I had already read the printed version of the book. I also knew exactly the friend who is a single mother that would just love this book. I had already given her the printed version and both her and her son loved it, but the audiobook is so much more engaging. This is a great story about non-traditional families, narrated by the author who has a velvety soft engaging voice. The story draws you inwards, in a fun and engaging way with the parts played by Alex, his mum and the other characters having real life to them. None of the bland monotonal storytelling here, this is a melting pot of music, story and emotion that transports you to worlds of wonder and whisks you through a fun series of events with an underlying message of hope and fun. I am sure my friend will love this audiobook even more than she loved the printed one. Recommended not only for single-parent families but for all families.

Great story line, fantastic music and sound effects, keeps you thoroughly entertained while answering some very important questions. The author/narrator has a very calm soothing voice, and Alex's performance is simply beautiful. The very end of the book brings an even bigger smile. Wonderful book!
